FRAME SERIES
Hand Sculpted Glass / Collaboration with Czech glass blowers
Psalm 139:15-16
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place,
when I was even together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my
unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
This series celebrates how God has made us intricately and intentionally. Each sculpture illustrates a milestone in my life that has shaped me. All of them depict these milestones frozen in a state of flux, about to be transformed into something whole.
These glass sculptures were a collaboration with Spektacularis, a project that brought together Filipino designers and Czech glass blowers to create works of art that explored the diverse expressive qualities of glass as a medium. The Czech Republic is known to have the best quality glass and craftsmen. These glass makers taught me about this beautiful material and their traditions. This project had design as its language that brought together two different cultures.
